DESWORDZMAN – Pozorrubio, Pangasinan
SoFFReL provided invaluable support to DESWORDZMAN by 3D printing a custom mold for the sword guard, a critical component in sword-making. Traditionally, DESWORDZMAN relied on sand casting to create these parts, which often resulted in inaccuracies in the design. With the precision of 3D printing technology, they were able to achieve a more accurate and detailed mold, significantly improving the quality of the final product.

In addition to this technical assistance, DESWORDZMAN benefited from a seminar organized by SoFFReL that focused on emerging technologies in the blacksmithing industry. This seminar provided insights into innovative techniques and tools that can enhance traditional craftsmanship, equipping DESWORDZMAN makers with the knowledge to further refine their skills and expand their capabilities in sword-making.

Colegio De Dagupan – Dagupan City
SoFFReL has actively engaged with Universidad de Dagupan by conducting a series of webinars on the Application of Data Analytics and the Applications of 3D Printing across various fields. These webinars aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of students and faculty alike, fostering a greater understanding of these innovative technologies.

Additionally, from July 6-8, 2022, SoFFReL organized a specialized training program for the engineering and architecture faculty, focusing on 3D Printing and Design. This training equipped educators with essential insights into additive manufacturing, enabling them to better guide their students in this rapidly evolving field.

Moreover, engineering and architecture students from Universidad de Dagupan have been conducting their thesis research at SoFFReL, specifically related to additive manufacturing. This hands-on experience allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, contributing to their academic and professional development.

Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Universidad de Dagupan and SoFFReL in May 2021. This agreement formalizes the collaboration on research projects centered on additive manufacturing.

Urdaneta City National High School
In April 2022, SoFFReL and Urdaneta City National High School (UCNHS) formalized the partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) focusing on 3D printing and robotics. Following this agreement, SoFFReL conducted a series of seminars for both teachers and students at UCNHS, focusing on the applications of 3D printing in robotics. These sessions aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of how additive manufacturing can be leveraged to improve design and functionality in robotics projects.

In addition to the seminars, SoFFReL provided ongoing technical assistance and consultation for research projects at UCNHS. This support enables students and teachers to explore new possibilities in their research, applying advanced 3D printing technologies to solve real-world challenges.

Pangasinan State University
SoFFReL (Solid Freeform Fabrication Research Laboratory) plays a pivotal role in supporting engineering programs, particularly in faculty and student research and development. The laboratory enables engineering students to design, model, and 3D print prototypes for their thesis projects, providing hands-on experience in fabrication. Faculty members also utilize SoFFReL to create 3D-printed instructional materials, enhancing their teaching demonstrations. Additionally, SoFFReL serves as a central hub for innovation, research, and development within the university.
